Chattanooga has all of the typical hotels that you find along highways throughout the United States. Most can be found at Exit 5 on I-75 (Shallowford Rd.). This is the East Brainerd area of Chattanooga and is adjacent to Hamilton Place Mall which is Chattanooga's largest. Many of the chain hotels are also located off of Exit 1 on I-75. This is the East Ridge area of Chattanooga.
However, if you are looking for something a little different you could try one of the local hotels that I highly recommend. At the famous Chattanooga Choo-Choo, you can actually choose to stay in a converted rail car or in a variety of "normal" rooms around the expansive grounds. There is a horse drawn carriage that leaves from there along with the free shuttle to downtown. The 2 hotels that cater to business are the Marriott Convention and Trade Center and The Chattanoogan. Both are great places to stay. There is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast located at 10th Street and Georgia Ave. called The Dwell Hotel. I believe you will have to have reservations in advance for this experience. The famous Read House has a great history behind it and one of my personal favorites and right in the middle of the downtown "action" is the Residence Inn.
Pet friendly hotels in Chattanooga are LaQuinta Inn off of I-75 Exit 5 and a very inexpensive hotel in Ringgold off of I-75 Exit 350 which is Hometown Inn. The phone number for Hometown Inn is 706-937-7070.
