Chattanooga, Tennessee Maps Below is a map of the Chattanooga region. We have a superb location. Chattanooga is about an hour from Knoxville, an hour and a half from Nashville and Atlanta, GA, an hour and 3/4 from Huntsville, Alabama, and about 2 hours to Burmingham, Alabama. With the Tennessee River running right through Chattanooga, water sportsman, fisherman, and pleasure boaters are in heaven! Chester Frost Park (a Hamilton County Park), which has been named one of Americas top 10 campgrounds, is a local favorite. Campsites are available on the waters edge of the Tennessee River or Dallas Bay so you can pull your boat/PWC up to your campsite or fish from your tent. For daily use there is a terrific beach with plenty of sand, beach vollyball, barbacues, and an abundance of grass areas at the waters edge. There are plenty of other private, municipal, county, and state parks and marinas in Hamilton County as well. For those that prefer the mountains, Chattanooga does not disappoint! Lookout Mountain, Signal Mountain, Mowbrey Mountain, Racoon Mountain, Elder Mountain, Flat Top Mountain, and White Oak Mountain are all within 20 minutes of downtown Chattanooga. Rock Climbing Magazine has done various articles featuring Chattanooga and the surrounding area.
